Exclusions

Contagious 2 days before the rash appears, during and until all blisters have formed scales and crusts. The spots must be dried up and crusted over this may take from 8-14 days.

Infectious when there is fluid in the blisters. Blisters need to be covered with a waterproof dressing.

Until eyes have been free from discharge for 24 hours or once treatment has been prescribed by a Doctor and a clearance has been sought.

2 – 4 days after the cold starts.

Not contagious but exclude child from care if fluid is coming out of ear.

Contagious for 1-15 days. Child must be excluded from care until the child has kept food down and there has been no diarrhoea for 24 hours.

Infectious whilst there is fluid in the blisters. Faeces remain infectious for several weeks. Child must be excluded from care until all blisters have dried.

Until all scabs have healed.

Seven to ten days after the onset of the rash.

Seven to ten days after swelling begins or until swelling has subsided.

Seven to ten days after the onset of the rash.

Must receive antibiotic treatment for at least 24 hours before returning to care.

Three weeks from onset of whoop.
