Vision
Our Vision is to provide the children of the diverse community of Mount Lawley and surrounds with an opportunity to experience an excellent and rewarding early year’s education. Further to care for and support those children and their families, in a way that respects and nurtures each child’s individuality and encourages those children to become lifelong learners. Meela also endeavours to encourage respect for the environment and teach children about sustainable practices.

Value Statement
Meela strives for excellence in all that we do including in the provision of high quality child care services offered to our families and children. Meela aims, through its provision of excellent care, to help our children develop, play and learn in a safe and nurturing environment where our children can feel happy and confident.
The concepts of respect and dignity are fundamentally important to Meela. Meela aims to treat our families, children and employees with the respect and dignity they deserve at all times. In particular Meela respects and encourages the growth of each child’s individual personality and nurtures their right of self-expression.
Meela aims to provide an environment where diversity is embraced as a strength. We aim to not only respect our families’, children’s and staff’s diverse backgrounds or challenges but to use them as a way to assist the children to learn about and be inspired by our world.
Meela has an important place in our local community providing it with a community based not-for-profit alternative to the widely available profit based model of care. As a not-for-profit Meela betters the community by reinvesting returns into the facilities and care provided for our children. We also aim to teach our children about the importance of engagement with community through various activities.
Meela values sustainability and recognises its importance for everybody’s future. At Meela we aim to teach children about caring for the environment. Through Meela’s programs our children are taught about recycling by using recycled equipment and materials in their everyday activities. Also using the Australian native plants in our gardens as an example, our children can learn about the importance of biological diversity and saving water. Meela aims to create an environment where it can exemplify sustainable practices to its families, children and the community.
